A group of hackers have stolen several other tools,     including the source code of EA's FIFA 21 game.

It is reported that a group of hackers have hacked into the servers of Electronic Arts and obtained about 780GB of data from the EA servers, including the source code of the FIFA 21 game and the code for its matchmaking server.

The data thus obtained includes the source code and tools of the Frostbite engine, and the Frostbite engine is a game engine that powers several of EA's popular titles such as Battlefield.

The hackers have been working to sell the data on the dark web, and EA has stated that this is not an ransomware attack, and that the data does not include player data or users' personal information.

An EA spokesman told the media that they had already launched an investigation into the attack on the EA network and were working to improve the security of their servers, and did not expect the attack to affect EA's games or EA's business. That's it.

The gaming industry has recently seen a number of major thefts, with hackers stealing the source code for CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 games, and Nintendo's Super Mario Kart and the unreleased Zelda game in July 2020 The source code for many SNES and Nintendo 64 games was also stolen.
